Do You Remember?
Remember is defined as the ability to bring to one's mind an awareness of (someone or something that one has seen, known, or experienced in the past). I just heard a bit of the song by Earth Wind and Fire, “Do You Remember-September”. I must admit that I got to singing some of it too. But, it was in that moment that I got our topic for today. It took me a few seconds. But, I started thinking about the things that I remember, including all the things that God has done for me. At FAVA Group the fundamental principles that guide our operations emphasize empowerment. We recognize that value is not just created but also shared and amplified within our community.
1 Corinthians 11:24-25 (KJV)
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
In 1 Corinthians 11, it is very clear that Jesus was intentional about encouraging the disciples to remember Him and the sacrifice He made for us. Understanding what Jesus did and the impact of it all, is key to enjoying the abundant life that was secured for us. Every time we embrace the communion table, we must understand the priceless gift that was given to us. As I grow older, I am now beginning to get a clearer picture of what Jesus did, when He died on the cross. When I see how fragile life is, I realize what Jesus did. When I see how the mind can crumble under pressure, to the point of suicide, I realize what Jesus did. When I hear how the young and strong can now view life as worthless enough, to take a gun and snuff out the life of their classmates, I realize what Jesus really did.
Remembering what Jesus did, enables me to understand and embrace my empowered value. Remembering what Jesus did, helps me understand that I can do all things through Christ, for it is He who strengthens me. Remembering what Jesus did, allows me to work overtime to empower and uplift the downtrodden. Jesus became the downtrodden that we could live the elevated life. Jesus became poor that we could be rich in every way. Jesus became sick, so that we could enjoy divine health. When I remember Jesus, I begin to love Him more and live out my God-Purpose. When I remember Jesus, and who I am because of Him, I have no other option but to thrive and win.
As we move forward, let us focus on fostering collaborative environments, and maintaining a commitment to integrity and transparency. Each decision we make should align with our God-mission: to empower value and, in turn, allow that value to reignite the spirit of innovation and growth in every one we meet. The future relies on our collective ability to uphold God’s Word, and through our actions, we will redefine what it means to create a sustainable, empowered value in the earth. Remember Jesus! Remember who you are!
