FAVA Living!
What would you do, if you had the choice between the favor of a wealthy, powerful king, versus the favor of the living God? Be sure to take a deep introspection into who you are and what you would really do? Don’t be like Peter. LOL!
This was the choice that was thrust before Abraham. He had to know who He was and who His God was. I would love to believe that I would do the same. But, each day I place myself before God, to ensure that He keeps me in the space, where I will always choose Him above anything or person. Here is Abraham’s response to the King of Sodom, when he made a proposal to Abraham, that went against God’s commands.
Genesis 14:21-23

21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the Lord, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:
It was quite clear that Abraham knew his Purpose, and was very intentional in ensuring that only God got the glory from his success. Mind you, Abraham was Very Rich. He was not just rich. He was VERY RICH (Billionaire Status). He was so rich, that his wealth and expanse intimidated nations and kings. When God blesses you, he will always be extravagant. He wants the world to know that He is God and He is your God. Many times, when God blesses us, the devil will bring distractions to take the glory away from God. God is expecting us to discern the tricks of the devil and be intentional about ensuring that God gets all the glory and all the worship. This is why God trusted Abraham. This is why God called Abraham, His Friend.
If God can trust you with blessings, He will lavish so many blessings upon you, that your head will swim. It is His good pleasure to bless us. The question is, what is our good pleasure? Is our good pleasure to bring God glory? In recent times, we have been inundated with reports of people going against their ethics and character to obtain wealth and fame. It saddens me to see that people don’t understand the high value and dominion given to them by God. It’s like giving up an island loaded with diamonds for a 10 acre lot loaded with mud. If you could only know the exceptional plans God has for you, it would remove the appeal of the deceptive traps of the devil. Abraham got it! He realized that his covenant with God trumped all the proposals that any king could offer him. Abraham was greatly blessed because he chose to obey God above man. The children of Israel are a testimony to the amazing greatness of the God we serve. His covenant with Abraham continues to sustain the Jews and amaze the world, to this day.
When you choose God, you choose abundant life. God does not just bring material wealth. God gives you the highest quality of living and purpose that you will never need to escape. When God blesses, you won’t need drugs to numb the pain and memories. When God blesses, you won’t have to hide from the authorities. When God blesses, you won’t need to fear that it can all be taken away. When God blesses it astounds and elevates. I intentionally choose God every year! I trust God’s plans for me. His plans are to prosper and to give an expected end. Choose God and enjoy FAVA Living!
